What the Lord Says

Amos 4:13
"For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth - the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!"
Power of God's Word
Ex 7:17 "By this you shall know that I am the Lord..."
Joshua 7:13 "Get up and sanctify yourselves..."
1 Kings 12:24 "You shall not go up nor fight...return home, for this thing is from me..."

The Most Powerful Statements in the Bible
*When the Lord speaks nature listens
Gen 1:1-3; Mk 4:39
"Let there be light..." ; "Peace, be still and behold there was a great calm..."
*When the Lord speaks kings listen
Ex 9:13; II Samuel 7:8
Pharoah; David
*When the Lord speaks, we should listen
John 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments"

What are we commanded?
Mk 12:33 Love one Another
James 1:27 Visit orphans & widows in their need
Eph. 5:19-20 Singing and giving thanks
The Great Command
Mt 28:18-20 We are commanded to teach

Some are not ready to teach - new converts, those who are not mature
Heb 5:12-14
But there are those who are mature - know right from wrong
EXCUSES - we may make
*I will not know what to say* (If this is your excuse, you're not reading your Bible)
Exodus 4:10=11 this was Moses' excuse and God told him "Who has made man's mouth,...now go, and I will be with you."
*I am too young"
Jeremiah 1: 6-8 "Then said I:"Ah, Lord God! I cannot speak, for I am a youth..." "The Lord says Go... for I am with you."
*This is not my job
Amos 7:14-16 "Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah; ... and the Lord said to me, Go, prophesy to my people, Israel."
For any excuse, there is an answer in the Bible.

What if I'm not experienced? You have been commanded to repent and believe Mk 1:14b-15

What if I say NO?
You have also been commanded!
Amos 4:11-13 "Prepare to meet your God!"
