Update On The Work In Mozambique, Africa 2016
Psalm 19:7
"The instruction of the Lord is perfect, renewing one's life;
The testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise."
God's word works everywhere! He made each of us and His word appeals to all of His creation.
This trip Bo, Teresa, Bo's brother, Bill and Jeremy DeHut stayed outside the capital city, Maputo. They offered classes to elders, deacons and preachers of the area, their wives and children. Their focus was to help the churches grow and mature by encouraging and teaching the leadership of the church. Those who lived too far to return home stayed in the church building for the week.
Classes were held throughout the week. The men's classes focused on an overview of the Bible with attention to church problems, how to conduct yourselves as leaders and how a Godly wife can be a great aid in the work.
Teresa taught a ladies class and daily children's classes. She left illustrated bible story books for the women to use to teach children's classes, along with printed lesson plans that had been translated into Portuguese, their native language.
As always the goal is for the work of the Lord to be in the hands of the native people and it sounds like it was a good week of instruction to aid with that purpose.
As we know, God rewards those who diligently seek him. Let us pray for our brothers and sisters continued growth and maturity, and the willingness of those who go and teach the word to them.
