My Responsibilities to the Local Church

Hebrews 10:24-25
24 and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Paul understood there are commandments you can only fulfill if you are a member of the local church in Acts 9:26 he tried to join with the brothers there because he knew how important it was.

We all need encouragement! And when we assemble, everyone knows where they are supposed to be and what they are supposed to do and it all works to build the church up!

Things you can only do by working with the local church:
1. It stirs up good works 1 Thess 5: 11-12
2. Builds up the church 2 Tim 4:2
3. Elders are grown and the church works for the good Heb 13:17 and titus 1
4. We bear one another’s burdens Gal 6:1-4
5. Practice faith hope and love as a church 1 Thess 1:1-4

You cannot do these alone; those that are engaged in the assembly have a greater effect on the church
